Biographical Notes

John Vincent

John Vincent has worked in the public sector for nearly 40 years, for Hertfordshire, Lambeth and Enfield Library Services, for the Arts Council, and, currently, as the Networker for "The Network - tackling social exclusion in libraries, museums, archives and galleries". He is also involved in a number of other areas, including developing a cross-sectoral social exclusion training 'toolkit' (for Resource); as a member of the consortium carrying out the research into the Learning Impacts of libraries, museums, archives and galleries; as a member of the UfI Equality and Diversity Forum; as a member of the Library Association's Policy Advisory Group on Social Exclusion; and is currently Chair of the Library Association's Sexuality Issues in Libraries Group (SILG).

John's particular areas of interest are tackling discrimination and developing equalities; working with children and young people; and working to develop services and staff support for LGBTs.
