Some of the best print and electronic reference works published in the UK form the shortlists for the 2001 Library Association / Whitaker Reference Awards, which are announced today. These Awards, judged by a panel of expert librarians, have been rewarding excellence, promoting awareness of outstanding reference products and encouraging quality since 1970. They are sponsored by Whitaker, market leader in the provision of information and e-commerce services for the book industry worldwide. The Reference Awards also incorporate the Wheatley Medal for an outstanding index, awarded with the Society of Indexers.
The winners will be announced at the National Acquisitions Group Conference in Loughborough on 12 September.
