United
Kingdom National Action Plan on Social Inclusion 2001 - 2003
In this plan, the United Kingdom presents its priorities and efforts for the
two years July 2001 - June 2003 in promoting social inclusion and combating poverty
and social exclusion. The Member State plans respond to the Community objectives
agreed at the Nice
European Council (Dec 2000) and the commitment
by the Lisbon European Council to make a decisive impact on the eradication
of poverty and social exclusion in Member States and the Union by 2010. Drawing
upon these plans, the Commission and the Council will prepare a Joint Report
on Social Inclusion for the Brussels-Laeken European Council of December 2001.
