Seminar delegates will need to make their own
arrangements for accommodation. London has a very wide range of
types on offer from the very basic to the extremely luxurious, but hotel
prices are generally considered to be high in comparison with many other
cities. Below are some options you may wish to consider
Budget Wigram House, Westminster Located
in a quiet residential street off the paved piazza of the Westminster Catholic Cathedral,
this is a 7-storey mansion block of
student accommodation built in late Victorian style. Just 5 minutes walk
from the DTI Conference Centre, single rooms (with some twins available for
partners) with wash basins (and shared toilets and showers).
Twins from about £48 per night. Bankside House Bankside
House is on the south bank of the Thames, adjacent to the recently
restored Globe Theatre (Shakespeare’s original playhouse); the Tate
Gallery of Modern Art and the Millennium Bridge (the first Thames crossing
built since 1874.
Approximately 15 minutes by London Underground or 25 minutes walking time
from the DTI Conference Centre, this modern student accommodation has single,
double and triple rooms available, all with private toilet and
shower. Prices start at £28 per night for a standard single.
American-style budget hotel chain Travel Inn Capital offers rooms equipped with an en suite bathroom with shower; double bed with duvet; sofa bed (in family rooms); remote control TV and radio alarm; and beverage trays. The largest of their four London hotels is the County Hall Travel Inn 10 minutes from the DTI Conference Centre. Details of this and their other hotels can be found on the Travel Inn website. Another American chain, Days Inn, with the same facilities as the
Travel Inn, is close to the Imperial War Museum,
and about 20 minutes walk from the Conference Centre. For further
