Meet the Committee: On being an Eastern Branch Rep!
Being a Branch Rep involves, in my case, attending meetings!
In addition to ensuring that information is channelled between
National and Branch committees, I also report to EALCC (or the
East Anglian Librarians Consultative Committee) to maintain current
awareness of YLG amongst local colleagues working in other LA
groups. I also link with a Suffolk based SLG committee
member.
None of this is in the least onerous as I get to meet a lot of
interesting (and very dedicated people) so, in my spare time,
I do more of the same. Yes I go to meetings, several of them,
more groups with wonderful acronyms
but I also dig my allotment,
read and have gossipy meals with friends. And in my real life?
Im an Advisory Librarian with the Schools Library
Service in Suffolk.
